A year on from his appointment as managing director of Interflex, Jim Griffin has been interviewed by leading trade publication, The Manufacturer.

In the article, featured on the website this month,  Jim explains how he drew on 30 years’ experience driving growth and innovation in the automotive industry to face the challenge of being appointed managing director of Interflex just as the pandemic hit in March 2020. He goes into detail about how he and the team rose to the challenge of bringing staff back from furlough before the end of the first lockdown with the diversification into PPE production and the creation of the Pinnacle PPE brand.

Jim also discusses how the use of material requirement planning system Access FactoryMaster has been a key part of his strategy after he successfully used the software to support the growth of his previous business from £3m to £30m.

As well as reflecting on the unprecedented challenges of the past year, Jim also takes the opportunity to talk about the exciting new developments on the horizon for Interflex, including onshoring the supply base to the UK, launching NVH into new industries such as construction and increasing exports to Europe.
